My Current Morning Skincare Routine

My morning routine is not as exciting as my night routine as I am always running late in a hurry

I started leaning towards simpler routines after watching (read: stalking) Dr Sam Bunting’s YouTube videos. She is a London based dermatologist who loves the minimalist approach to skincare. No matter how much of a hurry I’m in, my routine follows the cleanse, treat, moisturize and protect steps.

Cleanse: I start off by cleansing my face with the Medik8 Pore Cleanse Gel or iS Clinical Cleansing Complex or Jordan Samuel Skin Plie Treatment Cleanser.

Treat: I follow with a Vitamin C serum (currently Timeless C+E+Ferulic) which is an excellent antioxidant. I may use a toner before the serum if I feel my skin needs hydration or just apply a hydrating serum (Jordan Samuel’s Hydrate or the Superdrug Hydrating Serum) especially if I used a retinol/retinoid the night before.

I would be honest and admit I usually forget to apply my eye cream after my toner or even at all but when I do remember, I use The Ordinary Caffeine Solution 5% + EGCG.

Moisturize: after the serum I use a moisturiser which is usually a hydrating moisturizer. I alternate between Obagi Medical Hydrate and CosRx Oil-Free Moisturizing Lotion.

Protect: sunscreen is non-negotiable for me and I make sure I apply my sunscreen 15 minutes before I leave the house. I currently use the NeoStrata Sheer Physical Protection SPF 50 and I keep a tube of The BodyShop Multi Protection Essence in my purse to reapply every 2 hours.

And that’s it!

There is honestly no point getting a ton of products you will not use or layering several products and reducing efficacy or clogging your pores. I don’t use any exfoliant in the morning neither do I use a flannel as I do not want to over-exfoliate my skin.

What is your morning skincare routine like? I would love to know

xx
