Roundup of sunscreen products that do not leave a white cast on darker skintones.

The many reasons for black women not wearing sunscreen is first of all feeling darker skintones do not need sunscreen and the other reason is the dreaded white cast/purple/blue cast. Even those who apply forget to reapply.

Below is a list of sunscreens that do not leave a cast on darker skintones. Those marked (*), I have tried myself and those marked (P) mean it’s a physical sunscreen, those marked (mixed) contain physical and chemical filters. Feel free to mention any I may have left out in the comment section.

That you are wearing sunscreen doesn’t mean you are free to roam in the sun, wear a hat and protective clothing, avoid the sun if you can, apply and reapply! I know reapplication can be a bother, try the spray and powder versions from brands like Supergoop, Eucerin, Laroche Posay, Colorscience, Kate Sommerville, HawaianPeter Thomas Roth and Brush On Block for repplication. Some people use cushions and beauty blenders for reapplication but I worry about hygiene, product build up and breakouts when it comes to this method.

So you ask, which one on the list is best? My answer is…the one you will always remember to or want to wear!

Have you tried any on this list? Which ones are your favourites?

xx

ABOUT ME

Hi Everyone

Thank you for visiting my blog

Those who know me personally or follow me on Instagram can attest to the fact that I love skincare. Thanks to my mum and aunt, I have been very interested in skincare since I was a teenager and would try all sorts of products on my face. Luckily I didn’t get acne as a teen but age happened and my skin went crazy.
